With four locations across Quebec’s major cities, Signé Local is a one-stop shop for shoppers looking to buy Quebec-based products. VilleUnie spoke with Dawei Ding, president of Signé Local, on the importance of buying local.
“All the products that you see at Signé Local are made in Quebec,” said Ding. “If you want to support local businesses, you can do so simply by shopping here.”
Ding, a former corporate lawyer, wanted to make a real impact on local businesses when he, Charles Lespérance and Louis Lespérance took over Signé Local in 2022. Back then, the three co-owners struggled to find products that were really made in Quebec.
“People have a real desire to support local businesses and to buy more of it,” he adds. And it goes beyond just buying maple syrup.
The store only sells products from Quebec-based artists, manufacturers and suppliers so shoppers can support local expertise and talent instead of multinational companies. Shopping for locally-made products is the surest way that your dollar is re-invested into the province, which can be spent up to six times in the local economy according to Ding.
Signé Local’s distribution center is located in Brossard their four stores are located at the Eaton Center in Montreal, at Quartier DIX30 in Brossard, at Promenades St-Bruno and at Place Ste-Foy in Quebec.
